St. Christopher’s Separate School was built in 1966 to serve the residents of Hamilton as an elementary school. Due to shrinking enrollment numbers (105 pupils) the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board opted in 2008 to shutter the school after the school year.
Students were consolidated with students from nearby St. John the Baptist school in the fall.
Over the years the school has seen numerous fires and heavy vandalism. The school will eventually be demolished, For now, firefighters are routinely called out to extinguish arson.
Hey bud, thank you for your great work. I love checking out all the places you’ve been to. Its cool you include some narrative about the history of them to. I went to this school. I never been back after graduation. It was nice to see the insides again. It brought back some nice memories and also some not so nice memories. I remember the princepal, a older woman who wore here hair like in the courts when everyone has those white wigs on. If you were a trouble maker she would take out a leather strap and hit it against the desk to scare you. Lol.. I seen that strap a few times…lol.. I always wanted to go back to see it again, but never did, than they closed it and i thought I’d never see the insides again. You gave me that opportunity with your work and tbis video.. Thank you so much…it means alot to me, to be able to check it out again. Again thanks for your work and website…you are awesome bud….
