Operation Bird Rescue

This took place June 19, 2021 in Milton. We happened to pass by a house that had the look of being vacant. I turned around and parked at a nearby drug store. Entry into the house was very easy. In an upstairs bathroom, I observed a bird trapped in the bathroom. The window was screened, so the bird couldn’t make it’s way out.It flew toward me and into one of the bedrooms. I proceeded to rip the brittle window screen, in an attempt to free the bird but when I turned around, it had retreated into another bedroom. Fortunately I…

Operation Cat Nap

In June of 2019 I was out in the Hamilton area exploring an abandoned house. Due to observing a vehicle on the property I skipped the exploration and moved onto the next location. Another explorer (ForgottenOntario) would later visit the same vacant house, and discover a colony of cats. One of the cats had a badly infected eye.I made a public plea to my Facebook followers on June 16th, 2019:“There’s a property in the HAMILTON area with a sick cat. The cat’s eyes are badly infected and it appears it can hardly see. The property appears abandoned though someone may…

Karma Kittens

cat

After Darkman and I spent the day exploring the Toronto area, I drove as quickly as I could to reach Camp 30 in Bowmanville, Ontario before sunset. We arrived at Camp 30 by 8 P.M. and upon exiting the car we could see (and smell) that something was wrong. Smoke could be seen billowing the upper windows of one building. We walked around to the rear of the building where I walked inside the building. I found that a bonfire had been lit using part of a wooden pallet. Arson is nothing new when it comes to abandoned buildings but…

Hawk Rescue

This took place in December of 2015. Motleykiwi, JimmyEnduro and I were exploring the St. Thomas Psychiatric Hospital in St. Thomas. In one of the rooms we observed a Cooper’s Hawk trapped in one of the rooms. It was trying to get out but the windows were closed.Jimmy used his hat to cover the bird so as not to panic it. We opened a window and allowed it to escape to freedom.

Garbage Can Cat

This took place November 17, 2009 in St. Charles, OntarioI was out exploring some places today. In one location I found that I was not alone – another explorer was with me. He was discovered inside of a house that reeked of cat urine. I looked for a cat bowl, litter box or anything that might suggest this fellow belonged there – but could find nothing. The kitchen was empty, the fridge door wide open (empty) and bags of garbage were piled outside. Old chairs, computer parts and old oil containers littered the yard. There was no doubt this place…
